At Gavel Legal, we are committed to providing reliable, client-centered, and cost-effective legal assistance vis-à-vis Unreserved Legal Services (ULS). ULS are classified under the Legal Services Act 2007 (Act) and could be undertaken by those with no formal legal qualification or reserved title. Yet, all our activities remain subject to consumer and competition law and the regulatory protections this presents.

Innovatively and flexibly at a lower cost but providing higher value unlike traditional law firms, our lawyers can support individuals, small businesses, start-ups, and organizations in navigating legal processes with efficiency, transparency, and professionalism. From reviewing contracts and preparing legal documentation to assisting with compliance or property-related queries, we aim to deliver results that are right for you.

Who Are We?

Gavel Legal is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and does not carry professional indemnity insurance. However, what distinguishes us is the strength and structure of our team:

  • We work closely with a registered barrister holding a current practicing certificate,
  • And we engage registered solicitors as consultants, who intervene where regulatory compliance or reserved legal work is required.

This hybrid model allows us to streamline costs, maintain regulatory integrity, and provide specialist guidance where necessary — combining the accessibility of unregulated services with the oversight of regulated professionals.

Accounting and Complaints

Should you be dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, you may raise a complaint directly with us. In appropriate cases, complaints may also be directed vicariously to the relevant regulated professional involved, or to the Legal Ombudsman.
